Growing up I was always encouraged to find my passion and get involved with it. It would be then and only then that I would get paid but never work again. You know the saying:
“Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”
How true is this…or is this something that we are constantly looking for in a day-to-day lives? We are all on our individual journey to find our happiness and purpose in life. While not to get to metaphysical when Chris Brogan tweeted if you didn’t have to work for money, what would you do instead? Good question. A few years ago I probably would come up with various types of ideas of grandeur. Yet, this stage in my life I can honestly say I am on the right path. My answer to the tweet? What I’m doing now but on a higher level.
What’s wrong with where I’m at? Nothing. and everything.
I cannot stay in one position for too long and not want to achieve more. This was one of the reasons for creating my media company years ago. This was why I decided to go back to school with a young son so many years ago. This is why I continue to read up in my trade.
When I learn something that helps me in my day-to-day operations I don’t consider that work – I consider that being smart.
What say you?
