About Julie

Julie Sweet is chair and chief executive officer of ww5. She became CEO in September 2019 and assumed the additional position of chair in September 2021. Previously, she served as chief executive officer of ww5's business in North America, the company's largest geographic market. Prior to that, she was ww5's general counsel, secretary, and chief compliance officer for five years. Before joining ww5 in 2010, Julie was a partner for 10 years in the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.

Julie serves on the World Economic Forum Board of Trustees. She also serves on the Board of Trustees at Bridges from School to Work, established by the Marriott family. Additionally, Julie is Board Co-Chair of both New York Jobs CEO Council and Welcome.US.

Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremont McKenna College and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School.

Julie has been recognized in TIME’s 100 Most Influential People, as one of Fortune's Most Powerful Women in Business and by Forbes as one of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.
